M.V. Diabetes and Prof. M Viswanathan Diabetes Research Centre Unveil "MV SURGI BOOT" on 12 December 2023 in commemoration of International Day of Persons with Disability 2023.Chief Guest Dr. J. Sangumani, Director of Medical Education (DME) & Research, Directorate of Medical Education, Chennai & Dr. Vijay Viswanathan, Head & Chief Diabetologist at M.V. Diabetes launched MV SURGI BOOT together.
MV SURGI BOOT is an indigenously developed offloading device in India for people with Foot ulcer. This offloading device developed in MV Diabetes in-house manufacturing unit will be very beneficial for Indians due to its low cost and enhanced healing time.

M V Diabetes organized MV Diabetes Update in Diabetic Foot & Kidney at Hotel Radisson Blu.Key speakers of the program were Prof. Dr. Andrew Boulton, Immediate Pat President of International Diabetes Federation (IDF) & Dr. Janaka Karallikedde, Clinical Reader (Associate Professor) in Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease, King’s College London and Consultant, Physician in Diabetes and Endocrinology, Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital London Around 120 doctors participated.

7th Train the Foot Trainer (TtFT) Program- Chennai at the MV Diabetes Royapuram and Hyatt Regency, Chennai TTft (Train the Foot Trainer Program) has been done 6 times in South America, Africa, Europe, UAE & Western Pacific regions.The 7th Edition was done in Chennai by MV Diabetes under the leadership of Dr. Vijay Viswanathan for Indian doctors. Doctors from other countries like Maldives, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar also participated. Both faculty & delegates were from various countries apart from different parts of India. The doctors were given an overview of how to manage Diabetic Foot in these 2 days. There were also sessions about Diabetes treatment and they visited the facilities in M V Hospital for Diabetes and also interacted with the experts around the world.
